So excited to get back to BLOGGING...

So a little about myself for those who do not know about Robin's Scrap Nest.  I am 48 years young at least for another week ....hard to believe one more year of my forties....I am a christian who strives daily to show my Christ to others, wife married to Scott for 24 years and we have been blessed with three miracles...Miranda Adair 19, Mackenzie Nicole 17 and Tanner Scott 15.

I am smack in the middle of raising teens.... we have one fur baby Sadie Bear who is like another child.   I am a medical assistant but for the last almost 19 years I have worked in registration at the local hospital.  Crazy busy crazy stress.

My husband Scott has severe asthma and in Dec of 2013 he fell from a ladder when the ladder kicked out on him...He is now not able to work.

I have also lost three major people in my life since 9-8-2012 which also happened to be my wedding anniversary....my beloved Dad entered heaven after a courageous battle with colon cancer, in July of 2013 I lost my mother in law Marlene to Alzheimer's and in November of 2013 I lost my gramps Robert to a fall and old age....in each situation of caring for and witnessing their journey to enter HEAVEN's gate I learned much....one there is a very FINE line between the spiritual world and earth...it also lead me to think about life just a little differently....NO time for DRAMA, life is very very short, to never miss an opportunity to tell those you love how you feel and to never hold a grudge, and be very kind to strangers you never know when you may meet an angel or as scripture says Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

During all this time I have struggled with a deep depression missing my family members but it was only with my immediate family and my paper crafting face book group that I was able to focus on something I loved that brought a smile to my face.

This brings me to Robin's Scrap Nest...it all started about 6-7 or more years ago when friends and I would get together to hold scrap booking nights.  We would laugh and share and eat and cut and paste...so much friendship and fun!!...soon there were more ladies who wanted to join in on the event ...so I started renting a place and then carting all my scrap toys to the place once a month to share with others that were crazy addicted like me.  Soon my friend Diana and I held our first three day retreat as a trial to see if it could be done...Diana was the "head chef" and I the paper party organizer ...we held two crops like this but then Diana retired so I was left with the decision is hold more on my own or not hold anymore large crops.  So in March of 2014 I held my first crop on my own...ladies from OHIO, TX, PA, MA, WV, NY, KY, VA, MI, DE and CANADA have now attended my crops....yes I am still working out the kinks and trying new things...themed crops are so much fun but BEST of ALL I have made some FOREVER FRIENDS and we continue to hold each other up through the ups and downs of life's story ....

Blessings and HUGS from

WELCOME TO ROBIN'S NEST!

Hi!  This is Paula helping Robin get a new blog started for Robin's Scrap Nest.  I am just back from her absolutely AWESOME Rivercrest Farm Barn Crop plus some time spent with Robin and her wonderful family - husband Scott, daughters Miranda and Mackenzie and son Tanner.

We had a wonderful 4 days at the Barn!  Lots of the ladies brought absolutely yummy dinners and desserts.  I can't believe how much I ate...and how much I missed eating when I am reading the posts on the Facebook page about what was there.

I got to meet several of the birdies that I knew from the Facebook group which was SO special.  I had two awesome secret sisters who blessed me with the most amazing gifts.

I traveled all the way from Delaware and it was worth every mile (and even the speeding ticket I got on the way home!)  Ladies traveled from all over Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, New York and more.  Another big crop is in the planning stages now - hopefully for the week in April that my son is on Spring Break as I know he would have an awesome time with Robin's son Tanner and that would give me a traveling buddy.

There was a challenge hosted by Deidre Smith going on for layouts and projects with a barn theme...be sure to check that out.  I am sure there will be more challenges forthcoming so get ready!

I still haven't gotten my car unpacked so I will end here!

and ladies...if you were at this crop I hope to see you again in April...and those of you who weren't...be sure to come in April as I want to meet more birdies on my next trip!

Have a blessed weekend!
